New podcast for Trades and Construction business owners launches featuring leading industry figures

A new podcast for Trades and Construction business owners has launched providing vital support and motivation for the industry during the pandemic. The Evolve and Grow podcast has been set up by The Trades Coach, Alison Warner, https://evolveandgrowcoaching.com/ who hosts a series of compelling conversations with guests from successful business owners to leading industry figures.

Alison said: “This is a brand-new podcast for the Trades and Construction industry sharing valuable tips and advice on how to grow a sustainable business, and strike a healthy work life balance.

It’s the perfect medium for busy people on the move, you can download an episode, listen in, in your own time, and refer back to the advice when you need a reminder.”

The podcast also explores topical issues in the sector inviting experts to share their insights with the Evolve and Grow pod listeners.  Alison was recently honoured to be joined by Bill Hill, the CEO of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity to highlight the mental health challenges experienced by those across the construction sector.

The episode with Bill will be released on 7th August and will talk about the vital support the charity provides to families in crisis.  The charity has seen a sharp rise in calls to its 24-hour helpline during the Coronavirus pandemic and has launched a crisis appeal to respond to the needs of the workforce due to Covid-19.

Every working day, two construction workers take their own life; and stress, depression and anxiety account for a fifth of all work-related illness. The pandemic has left many under severe financial pressure and it has never been more important to support a workforce in desperate need.

Bill commented “We are all morally obligated to do something about these horrific statistics. I have sleepless nights trying to think of how we can get our services to individuals in crisis before they take their life and I am convinced that if given the opportunity we could manage to turn some away from suicide.

Our mission is that no construction worker or their family is alone in a crisis and we are now delivering a huge portfolio of free and widely available pro-active resources and training to ensure that organisations and individuals have many pathways to support when they need it.

Our Construction Industry Helpline offers free and confidential advice and support to construction workers and their families on a huge variety of physical, financial and mental wellbeing issues. This is supported by our free helpline app.

We are also offering free online wellbeing sessions to the industry on a variety of topics ranging from stress in the workplace to resilience and mindfulness.”
